A few closeups of the more minute wildlife taking refuge in the garden. Some good, others not so good.
Save for the ladybugs that are trying their best to ride herd on the pests attacking my Mock Orange, I have no idea about the other garden guests. I'm used to the little black garden spiders but this little fellow was quite chameleon like as he hung out on an Oriental Lily.
A green worm, perhaps? Munching away on the broccoli, turning it into swiss cheese. Not a welcome guest.

I love to garden although I am a novice at it. This year we planted cherry tomatoes, tomatoes, green peppers, hot peppers, eggplant, zucchini, squash and a few other things. My flower patch though is doing really well.
Our swiss chard is definitely looking like swiss cheese right about now. The peas are a holy terror though. They've taken over. They're even running over the monstruosity that is the bronze fennel.

Those pesky varmints! Ouch!
Something is making little round dead spots on the browalia foliage here this year. And of course, there are the ever-present slugs chomping on the hostas and occasional other plants.
I think the "green worm" is the caterpillar from a white Butterfly who loves all Brassicas. You can check them every morning and take the caterpillars off by hand if you don't have to many plants. The ladybird is beneficial it eats the aphids.
