The need for a night garden comes from my realization that I am just not getting to enjoy the garden that much during the day. Work, playdates and appointments quickly fill the calendar and before I know it plants are overgrown, grass has crept into flower beds and another season is almost gone.

I tend to plant a lot of white/buff flowers just for this reason. Especially because during Austin's summers it can still be in the 80s after sunset. This time of year the only time I can enjoy the garden is in the dark.
Hi! Just getting around for a visit after weeks of being very busy in the garden.
I hope to have a white garden someday...they really look wonderful at night. I loved your columbine photos a few posts back...one of my springtime favorite flowers.
Don't know about at your house, but I don't think I can take another cold, wet weekend! The only place to see the garden is from inside! Your rhodies do look nice, though. THe flowers help, but some would some sun. Would your space get enough light to support solar lights? They don't put out a lot of light, but a nice little glow anywhere you stick them helps.
