Our little hummingbird has been returning daily. I even had the privilege of watching him shoot up toward the sky and dive straight down, whirring and thwirping along the way. I'm definitely thinking this is an Anna's Hummingbird as many of you have suggested. Thank you so much.
Another winged visitor I'm not as thrilled about but realize this is nature.

What a treat to watch that hummingbird daily, Melanthia! As for the caterpillar, I found one today on my Lamb's Ear, it looks the same!
Great hummer photos!!!!
I love to sit on the porch and watch the hummers late in the day. They are so entertaining but I've never gotten a good photo. Thanks for sharing yours.
"Thwirping," I love it! I like when they go "tsip!" It always makes me feel so special when they come around, I'm sure you feel the same. Lucky us! They must like what you've planted to come every day. I think we have a few things they like but we also piggyback on both neighbors having HB feeders. Ew, is that a tent caterpillar? I hope not! They are so icky, en masse.
Don't you just love the hummingbirds?! They are amazing to watch. The yellow jackets keep trying to build nests here, I know they do some good stuff, but really they just make me nervous with kids around. Enjoy the sun!!
Tatyana: I just hope they're not tent caterpillars!
Darla: Still fuzzy but nice to see them all the same.
Mildred: They are such fun little birds. Do you have tricks for attracting them?
Karen: Not sure I have too many attractive plants to them but I'll take whatever I get. Yeah, not sure what type the caterpillar is. Haven't seen large groups, just lone soldiers.
Catherine: It was another gorgeous day! Getting lots done, too.
Love the pictures of the hummer. They are so cute!
Your garden seems to be ALIVE and well! Enjoy!
I love the hummingbird shots, I wish saw more of them out here!
Susie: They are sweet. And so hard to catch with the camera!
Pam: I will indeed enjoy! Our sunshine seems to have kicked everything in gear, including me.
notsocrafty: It was just this year that I started seeing more than one. It must take a few seasons for them to get comfortable.
I love it ! Very creative ! That's actually really cool Thanks.
