Blooms and such

Yellow columbine is in full bloom right now, just as the pale raspberry colored flowers are fading.

The lone sunflower to survive the great transplant of '09. Most of the loss was due to really leggy plants that broke when I moved them. I don't know sunflowers enough to properly identify this one, so it will be a surprise.

Ninebark 'Diablo' is alight with little pale pink flowers. This tall shrub in planted along the property line to hide some of the ugly chain link fence. Its rich color serves as a wonderful backdrop for the poppies and calla lilies in front of it.

I sure like that Diablo- very pretty. Our Columbine is finishing up right now. I moved some of the volunteers around my original plant started from seed and they even bloomed this year! I really like the pale yellow Columbine- I think it would go so well with my purple.
