I love irises! I have 3 different kinds of bearded iris, but have no idea what their names are lol. I'm sure I kept the tags somewhere in the garage, I'll have to go take a look....I have a delicate pink variety, a dark blue and white striped variety, and a purplish-black variety. The last ones tend to grow taller and flop over more than the others....maybe because it gets more sun?

Your iris is beautiful. It's really difficult to positively ID different iris, as I found when I tried to put a name to a passalong that I really love.

I actually like the new foliage of iris but mine haven't even started pushing up yet. The Contorted Filbert is lovely.

Glad you got the HLWS, even though it didn't come for free from me as we had hoped. I just dug out a bunch of iris last year but I bet you'll get some takers after showing that gorgeous shot of it in bloom. I feel like this time of year is good for looking at the details of what's happening in the garden, even if we feel like it isn't enough compared to summer.

Gardeness, thank you for the follow and the opportunity to meet another PNWesterner. The bearded iris is beautiful. Our contorted filbert is about 12 years old and stands about 5 feet tall outside my kitchen window for interest all year long. I'm pleased you have one.

Hi Brooke. I divided my clumped up and over grown irises last Fall and was amazed to get about thirty new plants going. They were really bad. LOL! Yours is such a pretty one though. Mine was an old fashioned purple that Grandma had.
