What a nice looking boy you have, and a gardener too! Your tomatoes are lovely, too. My tomatoes ripened, but I didn't get them all eaten or cooked with. Some are on their last leg, but I'm tickled that I've had tomatoes from the garden this late in the year.

My neighbor just told me that she was going to make apple-green-tomato pie. Have you ever heard of that, or made one? I hadn't.

I let the same thing happen to my tomatoes this year --- just this morning I had to compost two big black krims that had rotted on the vine because I didn't see them. Frustrating!!

Whew! I am NOT the only one who sort of let mine go!

I had them staked and twined around this bamboo and string contraption I devised, but they still went nuts and grew all over and around the thing until the tomato went full circle with the tip of the plants near tilting back into the dirt!

(I've just been too embarassed to post pics of mine, they are so much less pretty looking than yours!)

BTW, do you think that the flavor of green then ripened by heat tomatoes are less tasty than the "slow by the stove warmed and ripened" method?

I agree, there are never too many tomatoes, though I had a bountiful harvest. I have tomatoes simmering for sauce now.
